Note: Nine (9) of the Temporary, Full-Time (One Year) Vacancies will initially be based at 4330 Dufferin St and will relocate to 1116 King St W, Toronto M6K 1E6 once the new location is operational.
Major Responsibilities:
- Perform mandatory inspections of City of Toronto vehicles.
- Utilizes a variety of hand and power tools and equipment supplied by the City of Toronto.
- Performs calibrations.
- Reports deficiencies and makes recommendations.
- Works under the direction of a Lead hand and or Supervisor.
- Operates vehicles to move in and out of garage and do road tests.
- Must be familiar with the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the regulations that apply to this work.
- Responsible to keep shop area and tools clean.
- Performs other related work as assigned.
Key Qualifications:
Your resume must describe your qualifications as they relate to:
- Must possess a current Ontario Government Certificate of Qualification - Automotive Service Technician (310S).
- Considerable experience in all aspects of the maintenance and repair of vehicles and equipment.
- Extensive repair experience on gasoline and electric powered light to medium duty vehicles.
- Must possess and be able to maintain a valid Province of Ontario, Class "G" Driver's License and must qualify for the City's equipment operating permits and requirements.
You must also have:
- Must be physically capable of performing required duties.
- Must be able to work shift/weekend/overtime/on call duty.
- Ability to communicate effectively.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
