Job Function:

  • Utilizes Feature Manipulation Engine (FME) Form and FME Flow to extract, transform, validate and load geospatial and tabular data.
  • Develops, maintains and supports geospatial databases, enterprise geodatabases and related management systems.
  • Reviews and tests applications and "off the shelf" software products and makes recommendations for usage.
  • Develops and improves customized programs, scripts and applications dedicated to geospatial data access, automation and processing.
  • Works with divisional and corporate partners on integration of divisional geospatial data with enterprise geospatial repositories and ArcGIS Enterprise.
  • Works with project teams on the design, development and implementation of conceptual, logical, and physical data models and the integration of geospatial information within each.
  • Maintains knowledge of current and emerging GIS products and technology, including ArcGIS Enterprise, FME, enterprise geodatabases, web GIS and spatial applications.
  • Facilitates requirements for geospatial products and support by using geospatial data and technology.
  • Obtains and incorporates data from internal/external sources to support divisional data requirements.
  • Participates in the evaluation and testing of geospatial tools.
  • Assists with the integration of desktop, web and enterprise GIS technologies.
  • Provides support in the interoperability of data between geospatial information systems, FME, ArcGIS Enterprise and data management systems.
  • Provides technical advice and troubleshooting for geospatial data, FME, ArcGIS Enterprise and related GIS technology issues.
  • Develops and maintains technical and procedural documentation related to geospatial data, asset digitization, capital planning, decision-making models, SOPs and QA/QC processes.
  • Provides training and support to end users on GIS, ArcGIS Enterprise, FME workflows and geospatial databases.
  • Coordinates geodatabase versioning, data registration, referencing, data types, project conversions and transformations.
  • Administers ArcGIS licenses, user access, roles, groups, upgrades and troubleshooting.
  • Provides support to Distribution and Collection staff in Operations & Maintenance programs.
  • Supports the administration, configuration and maintenance of ArcGIS Enterprise environments.
  • Publishes, manages and troubleshoots GIS services, web maps and web applications in ArcGIS Enterprise.
  • Supports production and non-production GIS environments, including testing, upgrades, change management and operational support.

 

Key Qualifications:

Your application must describe your qualifications as they relate to:

  1. Post-secondary education or diploma in GIS, Computer Science or related discipline from a recognized institution, or equivalent combination of education or experience.
  2. Extensive experience with Geographic Information Systems (GIS), enterprise geodatabases, spatial databases or relational databases.
  3. Considerable experience with ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Enterprise, ArcGIS Online or related web GIS technologies.
  4. Experience in performing geospatial data analysis, compilation, organization, interpretation and dissemination.
  5. Considerable experience supporting, administering or configuring ArcGIS Enterprise environments.

 

You must also have:

  • Experience with enterprise GIS administration, including users, roles, groups, permissions, services and geodatabase support.
  • Experience supporting GIS environments across production, pre-production, development or test environments.
  • Experience with FME Flow and FME Form, including automation, data validation, ETL workflows and database integration.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, etc.) or equivalent.
  • Extensive practical knowledge of databases, SQL, spatial queries and geodatabase workflows.
  • Analytical and problem solving skills and ability to communicate both orally and in writing and develop solid internal and external work relationships. Ability to plan, prioritize, organize and work with minimal supervision.
  • Experience in the development, integration, support and maintenance of software applications for asset management systems, work management systems, spatial data collection, data extraction, reporting, GIS analysis and metadata maintenance.
  • Ability in using Web Map Services, ArcGIS services, geocoding tools and reusable software components available from the Enterprise Geospatial Environment.
  • Ability to work with various project teams in the development and implementation of conceptual, logical and physical data models and integration of geospatial information.
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills to provide troubleshooting support, technical documentation and reports on problems and effectively dealing with all levels of management and staff.
