Major Responsibilities:
The Program Support Trainee will assist divisional staff with general office duties as it relates to the program area. Duties could include the following:
- Assists with various divisional programs and office functions.
- Assists with collecting data and assembling information packages for various projects/assignments/operations.
- Locates, searches, records, photographs, inputs data, field notes, sketches, etc.
- Travels to various locations and/or attends special events with staff to distribute and provide information and answer general questions.
- Assists with packing, delivering, setting up displays, equipment, supplies, etc.
- Provides information, documents requests/findings for information and directs inquiries to appropriate staff to answer questions/handle requests.
Key Qualifications:
Your application must describe your qualifications as they relate to:
- Currently enrolled in or a recent graduate of any post-secondary education in a discipline pertinent to the job function (i.e. business, Human Resources, or other relevant field), or an approved combination of education and experience.
- Experience engaging with the public and providing front-line customer service, responding to inquiries in person, on the telephone, and through email.
- Experience working in a professional office environment providing administrative support & maintaining accurate records.
- Experience with computer applications including MS 365 Office Suite.
You must also have:

- Good understanding of business and Human Resources activities including business planning, relevant legislation/regulations, analyzing trends and data, financing, basic principles of staffing and business operations.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, clients, and the public.
- Good organizational and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under time constraints and meet deadlines.
- Ability to work independently and cooperatively within a team setting.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
- Knowledge of Human Resources legislation as well as business and project management methodologies.
- Ability to travel to other City work locations as required.
