  • Location and Shift Information: 
  • The base location is City Hall/NPS; however, candidates will be required to travel to various City locations, including Metro Hall/DPS and Scarborough Civic Centre/ACS.

 

Major Responsibilities:

  • Assists with various divisional programs and office functions.
  • Assists with collecting data and assembling information packages for various projects/assignments/operations.
  • Travels to various locations and/or attends special events with staff to distribute and provide information and answer general questions.
  • Assists with packing, delivering, setting up displays, equipment, supplies, etc.
  • Provides information, documents requests/findings for information and directs inquiries to appropriate staff to answer questions/handle requests.
  • Locates, searches, records, photographs, inputs data, field notes, sketches, etc.

 

Key Qualifications

Your application must describe your qualifications as they relate to:

  1.  Experience in the set up and tear down of meeting/event equipment such as tables, chairs, barricade, tents, audio visual equipment, etc.
  2. Experience providing customer service and dealing with the public.
  3. Experience with computer applications including MS Office Suite.

 

 

You must also have:

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to maintain cooperative working relationships with staff, clients and the general public.
  • Good organizational and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work under time constraints and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently and cooperatively within a team setting.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively.
  • Outgoing personality and ability to engage the public.
  • Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act and the provisions that apply to this work including WHMIS.
  • Must be physically capable of performing the required duties indoors and outdoors in all weather conditions including the ability to lift, push and pull heavy items.
  • Flexibility to work day, evening and weekend shifts.
  • Must be available to work a minimum of four shifts per week, including weekends, although not guaranteed.
  • Ability to travel to other City work locations as required.
