Join the Human Services Integration (HSI) team within Social Development (SD) as a Senior Data Solutions Integrator. Your impact:

As a Senior Data Solutions Integrator, you’ll empower senior leadership with data-driven insights, lead transformative analytics projects, and develop innovative solutions that drive measurable outcomes. This role blends technical mastery with strategic leadership, making it ideal for someone who thrives at the intersection of data science and public service innovation.

Major Responsibilities

Data Analytics

  • Lead large-scale, on-demand data research and analysis using advanced integration tools.
  • Apply statistical modeling and cutting-edge analytics to uncover actionable insights.
  • Design and execute applied research using diverse data sources to inform program decisions.
  • Build prototypes, predictive models, and custom algorithms to support strategic initiatives.
  • Utilize GIS/spatial analysis, web hosting, and GUI development to enhance data accessibility.

Program Development

  • Develop and implement data strategies aligned with divisional and city-wide goals.
  • Apply multidisciplinary approaches to solve complex challenges with innovative solutions.
  • Produce technical documentation, briefing notes, and reports to support data dissemination and decision-making.

Strategic and Budget Management

  • Contribute to budget planning and ensure responsible financial oversight.
  • Lead long-range planning and change management initiatives.
  • Manage consultant contracts and ensure timely delivery of project milestones.
  • Champion the use of existing and emerging data assets for evidence-based decision-making.

People Leadership & Relationship Management

  • Mentor and guide staff in data collection, analysis, and visualization.
  • Build strong partnerships across divisions and with external stakeholders (e.g., TTC, Metrolinx, Salesforce).
  • Develop collaborative strategies for data sharing and integration across systems.

 

Key Qualifications

  1. Post-secondary education in Computer Engineering, Data Management, Statistics, Computer Science, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field—or equivalent experience.
  2. Extensive leadership experience in data analytics, machine learning, applied research, and reporting.
  3. Extensive experience managing relational databases (e.g., Oracle, SQL Server) and statistical programming (e.g., SAS, SQL).
  4. Advanced skills in geospatial tools (e.g., ArcGIS, MapInfo) and visualization platforms (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI).
  5. Proficiency in web development (WordPress, HTML, CSS, JavaScript) with a focus on accessibility and UX.
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to engage technical and non-technical audiences.
  7. High discretion with sensitive data and a talent for translating complex concepts into clear business insights.
  8. Strategic thinker with a passion for public service innovation and political acuity.
  9. Willingness to travel to various City of Toronto locations for stakeholder engagement.
