As the Senior Enterprise Solutions Technical Lead, you will be reporting to the SAP Portfolio Manager, The Senior Enterprise Services Technical Lead (SAP Senior Solution Architect) will provide technical leadership to the City's SAP Portfolio Enterprise Delivery team in the Solution Architecture. This role is critical to driving technical, strategic direction for the SAP Suite Products implementation and provides leadership to the technical team that will support the projects in the Roadmap. The Senior Enterprise Technical lead (SAP Senior Solution Architect) is also responsible for planning and coordinating the sustainment change impacts and specialized work packages for the projects, working closely with the Program Director, Project Managers, and other Stakeholders. This SAP leadership position is required to provide next-generation SAP technologies necessary for delivering projects, provide the City alignment with best practices and alignment with the corporate architecture design principles, working closely with business clients and stakeholders. This individual will focus on strong partnerships and apply proven communication and problem-solving skills to guide and assist the project on work packages related to development, integration, and quality assurance.

Specifically, you will provide leadership in the areas of:
Strategic Planning & Operations Leadership:
- Leads the definition, design, and implementation of foundational enterprise solutions, providing technical leadership and subject matter expertise in areas including platform and basis technologies, enterprise change management, User Access administration, and Tech Admin (NetWeaver/Basis).
- Develops and implements critical components of enterprise solutions and information.
- Ensures continuous research and updates of the enterprise solutions based on the needs of the City.
- Ensures solutions, data strategies, and architectures comply with regulatory requirements.
- Oversees the technical design and implementation for corporate City of Toronto enterprise solution environments.
- Oversees design of enterprise solution architecture to fulfill current and future organizational needs.
- Assesses current technical architecture and develops future enterprise solution design.
- Develops and implements detailed plans and recommends policies regarding program-specific requirements.
- Develops and delivers long-term strategic goals for enterprise solution implementation and standards with business users, divisional managers, clients, and other key stakeholders.
- Develops and promotes enterprise solution methodologies and standards.
- Addresses solution-related problems concerning integration, compatibility, and multiple-platform integration.
- Identifies and develops opportunities for solution reuse, migration, and retirement.
- Conducts solution and data capacity planning, life cycle, retention, usage requirements, feasibility studies, and other related tasks.
- Coordinates the definition of backup, archival and disaster recovery strategy for enterprise solutions.
- Ensures integrity of the enterprise solution environment by working with business and technical partners.
- Selects and implements the appropriate tools, software, applications, and systems to support relevant solution goals.
- Defines standardized methods and techniques for enterprise solution projects.
- Collaborates with project managers and business unit leaders for enterprise solutions projects.
- Ensures the success of enterprise solution rollouts.
- Liaises with vendors and service providers to select products or services that best meet organizational goals.
- Oversees the development, implementation, and execution of a test strategy (including automation), test plans, test cases, test scripts, automation scripts, vulnerability assessments, accessibility testing (AODA), performance testing and end-to-end management tracking of all solution deficiencies.
- Ensures the Quality Assurance team is leading, facilitating and contributing to the application development life cycle and using automated test tools based on corporate standards to create and execute test cases using standard software testing tools for defect management, regression, automation, user interface and performance testing.
- Creates short-term tactical solutions to achieve long-term objectives and the overall roadmap.
- Assesses and determines governance, stewardship, and framework for managing data across the organization.
- Establishes mechanisms for monitoring and compliance with technology and information governance policies and practices.
- Enforces technology and information governance standards and policies, including change and user access management.
- Ensures solutions and data quality management practices and standards are adhered to.
- Establishes methods and procedures for measuring solution and data quality and tracking improvements.
- Establishes processes for governing, identification, collection, and use of corporate metadata and takes steps to assure metadata accuracy and validity.
- Oversees mapping of data sources, data movement, interfaces, and analytics while ensuring data quality.
Budget Management:
- Budget management, including planning and monitoring, reporting, and resource management and allocation, financial forecasting, cost analysis, and risk assessment for your operational and project budgets.
- Develop, recommend, and administer the annual budget for the section, and ensure that expenditures are controlled and maintained within approved budget limitations.
- Provide consultation and assist divisions in developing technology investment plans, building business cases for funding approval, preparing budgets, and establishing project framework and resources.

Partnership, Vendor & Relationship Management:
- Develop ongoing positive working relationships within Technology Services, as well as with client and partner Divisions. Foster collaboration and service excellence in cross-functional teams, and act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership across the organization.
- Build collaborative relationships with City stakeholders and senior management and assists them in recognizing where Technology Services can add value to, transform or support program operations.
- Foster and manage external partner relationships and manage large, complex contracts to deliver transformation programs and value for the City investments.
- Supervises the day-to-day operation of all assigned staff, including the scheduling, setting, and reviewing work.
- Authorizes and controls vacation and overtime requests. Monitors and evaluates staff performance, approves salary increments, and recommends disciplinary action when necessary.
- Directs and supports technical project teams providing continuity and consistency across projects.

- Specialized in SAP Integration: You are adept at leading SAP integration strategies, particularly for connecting SAP systems with non-SAP environments using tools such as SAP Cloud Platform Integration (CPI), APIs, and middleware solutions. - SAP Technical and Functional Synergy: You offer an uncommon mix of technical depth and functional insight in SAP. From SAP S/4HANA Finance and Logistics to Ariba Procurement and SuccessFactors for HR, you understand the nuances of each module. You collaborate with functional teams to ensure solutions meet real-world business requirements, particularly around custom configurations and process automation.
- Strategic Influence and Communication in SAP Projects: Your ability to communicate with the Senior Management Team, business leaders, and technical teams means you bridge the gap between business strategy and technology execution. - Post-secondary degree/diploma in computer science or related disciplines, paired with considerable experience working on software development projects.
- Highly developed leadership, interpersonal, conflict resolution, negotiation, facilitation, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team environment and independently as required.
- Strong customer service orientation and a demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective stakeholder relationships and manage client deliverables and expectations.
- Strong written and oral communication skills, including presenting and composing written documents to senior IT and business stakeholders.
- Knowledge and experience in industry best practice application and system architecture patterns and frameworks, such as micro-service-based application architecture, open API etc. is an asset
- Experience in architectural design and implementation in large and complex enterprise environments is an asset.
- Extensive software product and project management experience in SAP S4/Hana implementations and upgrades, with a preference for SAP S4/Hana RISE implementation experience is an asset.
- SAP Certified Technology Professionals and Associates certification is preferred.
