Major Responsibilities:
Reporting to a Senior Systems Integrator at Toronto Public Health (TPH), the Systems Integrator 2 will be part of a team that performs information technology (IT) activities that support of several software systems and services. Responsibilities will include elicitation and mapping of requirements, writing technical specifications, preparing test scripts, conducting testing, writing user documentation, preparing rollout plans and training users and other business analysis skills as required for successful implementation and maintenance of software systems. Additionally, this role requires excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Conducts feasibility studies on business opportunities & challenges.
- Assesses, analyzes, evaluates, and recommends process & policy alternatives.
- Provides inputs on improvements to current business environment & processes.
- Recommend improvements to current methodology, process, standards, and policies.
- Liaises and co-ordinates with internal & external groups on accomplishment of deliverables.
- Facilitates collection of business requirements and build consensus amongst clients on accomplishment of deliverables.
- Prepares Business Case, Business Requirements, Gap Analysis, Logical Data Models and Design documents for proposed solutions.
- Provides inputs to Data Management teams on transformation of clients' business requirements as represented by logical data models into physical data models.
- Designs and implements business & data / information requirements into databases or file management systems.
- Develops programs to translate business requirements & designs into information systems.
- Prepares test data. Conducts testing of programs and systems for unit, system, performance, usability, user acceptance, disaster recovery and implementation tests.
- Prepares test strategy, test cases & test scripts for system, performance, usability, and acceptance testing of system solutions developed.
- Participates in walk-through of deliverables to identify potential problems.
- Prepares implementation & rollout strategies and plans. Prepares documentation for systems to facilitate transfer of knowledge.
- Provides inputs to "Go / No Go" cut-over decisions e.g. roll-outs.
- Travels to off-site locations.
Key Qualifications:
Your application must describe your qualifications as they relate to:
- University degree in computer science or related discipline, or the equivalent completion of education and relevant experience working on large scale technology projects.
- Considerable experience reviewing and assessing business processes, facilitating sessions to elicit business and technical requirements, documenting requirements and modelling of business processes.
- Considerable experience in preparing, organizing, and presenting project documentation (e.g., feasibility studies, gap analyses, impact assessments, business cases, project plans).
- Considerable experience developing test plans, conducting testing, preparing user documentation, and providing user training.
- Considerable experience collaborating with technical staff and producing technical document artifacts (e.g., UI design, data mapping, data models, etc.) using standard documentation tools, e.g., Visio, ER Studio.
- Experience effectively using MS Project, MS Visio, Requirements Management Software, Testing Management Software, Jira, and MS Office.
You must also have:
- Knowledge of relational database concepts including data modelling and data dictionaries.
- Knowledge of developing automation scripts using tools such as using Macros, SQL Server, PL/SQL, etc.
- Knowledge of public health initiatives or products specific to public health would be an asset.
- Familiarity with mainstream and emerging technologies.
- Efficient and effective skills in communications (e.g., presentations, report writing, correspondence).
- Excellent interpersonal skills and an aptitude to work independently and collaboratively with others in a multi-disciplinary and multi-level team setting.
