In this position, you will deliver BI solutions, leadership, and guidance to design, integrate, and implement solutions across multiple platforms, including both cloud and on-premise environments, in support of organizational BI and data initiatives.
You will offer specialized technical and business consulting expertise to address operational and modernization project requirements, such as Business Process Reviews, Data Architecture Designs and Reviews, Technical Architecture Reviews, Technical Assessments, and alignment with the City’s data and BI strategic objectives.
Major Responsibilities:
The primary responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
People Leadership & Workforce Management
- Supervises, motivates and develops staff, fostering teamwork, high performance, continuous learning and innovation.
- Oversees day-to-day operations, including assigning and reviewing work, scheduling resources, authorizing vacation and overtime, and monitoring performance.
- Conducts performance evaluations, approves salary increments, addresses grievances, and recommends disciplinary action when required.
Financial & Administrative Accountability
- Provides input into and administers assigned budgets, ensuring expenditures remain within approved limits.
- Prepares and oversees the development of contractual and procurement documents, including RFI/RFP/RFQs, Statements of Work (SOWs), Memoranda of Understanding (MOUs), and Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
Technology Strategy, Architecture & Standards
- Leads the development and sustainment of corporate standards, methodologies and frameworks related to project management, data architecture, data modeling, metadata, change management, application development and migration.
- Assesses emerging technology trends and provides recommendations regarding the acquisition, integration and effective use of technology.
- Evaluates and recommends scalable business and technical solutions aligned with corporate architecture, standards, policies and business requirements.
Business Analysis & Solution Development
- Analyzes business processes, information architecture and performance measures to identify opportunities for improvement.
- Conducts research, feasibility studies and evaluations, and recommends technical solutions that leverage existing enterprise investments.
- Determines requirements, obtains approvals and sign-offs, and supports the implementation of enterprise-wide solutions.
Vendor, Contract & Service Delivery Management
- Leads the evaluation, selection and recommendation of technical solutions and professional services.
- Manages vendors, contractors and service providers throughout the solution delivery lifecycle.
Governance, Risk, Privacy & Compliance
- Recommends and implements security, privacy and quality assurance requirements in compliance with MFIPPA and applicable corporate and legislative standards.
- Establishes and sustains project governance and management structures, including initiatives involving multiple levels of government and external stakeholders.
Stakeholder Management & Organizational Influence
- Negotiates with senior management, clients and stakeholders who may have competing priorities and objectives.
- Identifies and develops divisional and cross-divisional initiatives that improve collaboration, efficiencies and economies of scale.
- Educates and advises senior leaders, business users and technology professionals on technology trends, information management and business solutions.
Key Qualifications:
Your application for the role of Senior Systems Integrator Technology Services (Senior SAP BW/Datasphere Lead) should describe your qualifications as they relate to:
- Post-secondary education in Computer Science, Information Technology or a related discipline or the approved equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
- Extensive experience with BI, data, and analytics platforms in data integration, data management, data modeling, ETL, reporting, and AI, designing scalable solutions using technologies such as SAP BW, SAP Datasphere, SAC, SAP BOBJ, Power BI, and related modern analytics technologies.
- Considerable experience in Bl leadership and supervision, including staff assignment, project or operational oversight, SLA management, performance monitoring, and serving as SAP Data warehousing (BW/Datasphere) contact for challenges and decisions.
- Considerable experience leading enterprise SAP BI and data architecture, including roadmap development, gap analysis, and documenting future-state solutions covering data design, space design, semantic modeling, platform integration, data flows, configurations, and the implementation of secure data access strategies
- Experience leading migration and modernization initiatives from SAP BW to SAP Datasphere, including assessment of legacy models, transition planning, data integration strategy (cloud vs on-prem, SAP to non-SAP), semantic layer redesign, and alignment with enterprise data governance and reporting needs.
- Experience integrating SAP data platforms with Databricks and modern cloud data engineering ecosystems to support advanced analytics, scalable data pipelines, transformation workloads, and enterprise data modernization strategies across SAP and non-SAP environments.
- Experience establishing governance, security, and best practices for enterprise BI platforms, including role-based access, data stewardship, operational standards, and stakeholder alignment to support trusted and reusable analytics solutions.
- Ability to provide strategic business and technical consulting services, including business process reviews, requirements analysis, technical assessments, and the development of technology recommendations aligned with organizational objectives.
