Job Summary:
To deliver technical training across City divisions on SAP Payroll, Benefits, Time Management Modules, SuccessFactors and ESS/MSS and to consult with the Supervisor to continuously improve training curricula and service delivery.
Major Responsibilities:
- Implements and delivers/facilitates training programs and testing standards on SAP (including ESS/MSS portal) and SuccessFactors. Assists with the development and maintenance of courses, training materials as well as resources to reflect current technology and procedures.
- Assists with the development and maintenance of eLearning and online training environment (e.g. ELI), technical user manuals and SAP training aids.
- Develops & prepares PowerPoint slides using content provided and delivers quality training to all Divisional SAP users and instructs users on operation of SAP software, (e.g. payroll and benefits, time entry, personnel actions, payroll clusters, specialized reporting, ESS and MSS).
- Implements detailed plans and recommends policies/procedures regarding program specific requirements.
- Conducts research into assigned area ensuring that such research takes into account developments within the field, corporate policies and practices, legislation and initiatives by other levels of government.
- Provides input into and administers assigned budget, ensuring that expenditures are controlled and maintained within approved budget limitations.
- Provides subject matter expertise related to SAP (ESS/MSS) and SuccessFactors technical skills.
- Assesses and evaluates participants' skills, knowledge and performance. Monitors on-the-job training programs.
- Collects data on training evaluations and performance measurement tools.
- Makes recommendations for employees to enter/remain in programs and participates in the selection process.
- Participates in labour relation matters as they relate to the division's training initiatives (i.e. program specific certifications, apprenticeship programs, etc.) and delivery of training.
- Assists the Supervisor with updates to position skills profiles and individual training plans.
- Assists the Supervisor in the procurement and administration of services, materials and equipment related to staff training initiatives in support of legislative compliance and divisional goals.
- Assists the Supervisor with the maintenance of a computerized tracking process to track course attendance, course completion, skills level attainments and participant and facilitator feedback. Tracks and monitors records to ensure regulatory compliance.
- Prepares reports on training and skills development and compliance issues.
- Supervises projects related to Workforce Development as assigned, and ensures associated expenditures are controlled and maintained within approved budget limitations.
Key Qualifications:
Your application must describe your qualifications as they relate to:
- Post-secondary education in Adult education, training, recreation, human resources, or related field or approved equivalent combination of experience and/or education.
- Considerable experience planning, coordinating, and delivering training to large groups.
- Experience in training and development/adult education including program design, delivery, assessment, evaluation, and related administration.
- Considerable experience using SAP Payroll, Benefits or Time Management modules, SuccessFactors or ESS/MSS.
- Familiar with payroll or benefit processing (e.g. time entry, personnel actions or specialized reporting).
- Ability to provide technical support to end users and proficient in MS suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
- Knowledge of layout, formatting and text editing for production of training documents and presentations.
- Thorough understanding of Payroll structures and integration between various modules within SAP financial system.
- Advanced knowledge of overall capabilities of SAP payroll module.
- Ability to troubleshoot, resolve problems and analyze user requirements, develop solutions and clearly communicate these observations and findings through training initiatives.
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing, in order to design and conduct training and user orientation in software utilization and business processes as they relate to the Pension, Payroll and Employee Benefits Division (PPEB).
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively at various levels within organizations.
- Ability to consult and partner with other business areas within and outside of PPEB. Knowledge of the City's collective agreements, policies, employment standards and government requirements.
- Ability to coordinate with subject matter experts, design and develop technical materials and reports.
- Good organizational skills with the ability to multi-task and work in a high pressure, high volume team-oriented environment with minimal supervision.
- Knowledge of instructional design, eLearning standards and best practices (such as accessibility) as well as emerging learning technologies (e.g. social learning, eLearning, blended learning) considered an asset.
- Experience in developing eLearning modules is an asset.
- Ability to be flexible in work schedule (e.g. overtime/lieu time may be required).
- Must be able to attend and provide off-site training sessions.
- Experience using Articulate considered and asset.
